“Studies in the Scriptures” is a non-sectarian, non-denominational teaching ministry. Firmly adhering to historic confessional biblical christianity, the ministry’s subordinate standards are the: Westminster Confession (1646), Savoy Declaration (1658) and Baptist Confession (1689).

In obedience to the LORD Jesus Christ’s direction to teach whatsoever He has commanded (Matthew 28:19-20), the ministry professes the biblical principles of only grace, only faith, only scripture, only Christ, and only for the Glory of God.

Gospel Hour Update

With thankfulness to the LORD and acknowledgment of His mercies we commence the seventh year of broadcasting on 2CHR. We wish to express appreciation to our fellow pilgrims for their kind support in prayer and frequent encouragment to continue publishing the Word for the honour of our LORD Jesus Christ and their refreshment. The Bible says “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” Rev.19:10, and the Word of God alone, inscripturated in the Old and New Testaments, is the means by which God the Holy Spirit brings light and life to the hearts of lost sinners: “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” John 5:39. “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” John 15:26.
The sulphuric religious imaginations and miasmas of pseudo-spiritual psychologism that erupt from the caldera of the fleshly mind are fatal to a soul’s eternal interest. There is no Divine power, spiritual life or assurance of mercy tendered in them, “But in vain they do worship me,” said the LORD Jesus, “teaching for doctrines the commandments of men”. Mt 15:9. The truth is that,”It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63. Therefore brethren, we must,,”stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;” Phil.1:27.

Warm regards in Christ from Rob, Edwina, and Japheth Nicholson.

We have rearranged the Gospel Hour site to facilitate access to sermons broadcast in the second hour of Sunday Breakfast (7-8am) ‘informally’ called ‘the Hunter Gospel Pulpit’. All sermons, messages and talks now have a dedicated page under the ‘Sermon’ tab on the site navigation bar. These audio files may be freely downloaded and shared with acknowledgment to the Kurri Kurri Congregational fellowship and the Gospel Hour. Bear in mind that by Divine intention, preaching is a ‘living voice to a hearing ear’, that is, it is always better, DV, to be ‘there to hear it’ in the first place. The sermons and messages have been processed for broadcasting with no editorial modification of the actual content. We thank the LORD for His great kindness and the gracious privilege of serving our fellow ‘strangers and pilgrims on the earth’.

Warm regards in Christ, Rob, Edwina, and Japheth.
